Hello Guys,
We "Gaur Agro Farm" from Distt. Bulandshahr (Uttar Pradesh). We are running a pig farm in Distt. Bulandshahr with scientific infrastructure and trained workmen. We had started our pig farm in 2012 . Presently We are totally satisfied with our business and profitability after 2 year's struggle in pig farming :)
If you are planing to start your pig farm then We must say you are on right track for your success but you have to understand no success comes without struggle and hardworking. Most of the people think that pig farming is very easy task and this is part time business but that type of thinking is the main cause for the failure of pig farm.
This blog is for 2 unit (20 females + 03 Males) live stock.
Few points which are as under are useful in starting of your pig farm.
1. You have your own land. (Farming/Agriculture Land)
2. Shade for the animals.
3. Electricity connection.
4. Availability of fresh water. (Submer Sirbal)
5. Wastage area for manure and other things.
6. Store.
7. Labour rooms.
8. Office.
Pig farming have two classifications.
A) Breeding
B) Fattening
A) Breeding business : In the breeding business farmer have his farrowing shades and parent stock (Pregnant females) and take piglets from his female pigs and after weaning all weaners (age 60 days or above) purchases by the new farmers.
Normally market rate of the weaners is from Rs.2500/each to Rs. 3000/each. There is no problem in the market for the sale of weaners. If you are taking the own production then cost of one weaner is Rs.1200/each (after all type of expenditures). It means you are saving approximate Rs.1200 to Rs.1700 on each weaner.
If you have 20 female pigs in your farm then you can take normally 8 weaners (Minimum) by one female pig,
Total weaners will be ready to sale...
Total profit is Rs. 1700 x 320 Weaners = Rs. 5,44,000/Only.
B) Fattening Business : If you are developing your animals for cutting purpose than your way of working is fattening. One animal easily developed in 08 month by complete balanced pig feed in which one piglet feed milk of his/her mother pig for 60 days (02 months) rest 06 months is for feed. In these 8 months piglets will grown upto 100kg to 120kg body weight.
Cost of one pig in gaining 100 kg body weight is Rs. 6500/Only (Including all types of expenditures)

Mr. Mehta,
DeleteIn India most of the people relate this pig farming business with cast and community and in the majority in India piggery depend on wastage food like kitchen wastage and hotel wastage. This feed is the cause of rate/cost difference of pork,
But currently in India many new pig farmer are doing their pig farming on dry feed like poultry. Condition shall be changed in near future.
