FUTURE PERSPECTIVES &SWINE INDUSTRY SCENARIO :
Although
Swine Industry is not growing at satisfactory level, that’s why to meet the
national and international demand of swine/pork, concerted efforts in terms of
better health, feed availability and proper breeding management is required to
exploit this swine/pork industry. Swine Industry holds key to overcome the
future unemployment problem in rural youth.
The share of
pork to the total meat production has almost been static for last 15 years at
about 10%. Total India’s swine population is 13.84 million (According to FAO
records; FAOSTAT, 2009) and it constitute 1.47% of worlds swine population.
