HOW TO MAKE PIG FEED EASILY

HOW CAN YOU MAKE YOUR OWN PIG FEED

Many new pig farmers are facing problems of pig feed because feed companies are giving their pig feed on very high prices. We personally observed if you are not making your own pig feed presently you can't succeed your farm. These following problems are coming in front of pig farmers during feed making...
  1. Supplements collection.
  2. Right vitamin and mineral collection.
  3. Right sources of proteins.
  4. Costing.
  5. Grains collection.
When you are making your pig feed always remember we will not use any second grade grains or food items. Because vitamins, minerals, amino acids, DCP, toxic binder and other supplements are not available everywhere so for this problem we have an solution. In every town/city on vet. medical store you have to purchase "10% concentrated poultry feed" bag of 50kg and mix it with your grains. Pictures are as under... 

 When you are making this feed remember following points which are as under...
  1. Add 10kg above concentrated feed.
  2. Mix soya DOC for protein according to feed formulation. (No change in the ratio of adding Soya DOC)
  3. For breeding feed you should use rich fiber grains.
  4. Add minimum 40kg corn in every feed.
  5. Use minimum 5kg molasses (Sheera) in 100kg of feed.
  6. No need to add any type of vitamin/mineral powder in the feed.

Selection of Breeding Gilts (In Pig farming) It is extremely important to select a good gilts since it contributes half the quality of the herd. Areas to be consider while selecting breeding gilts :   Gilts selected to have at least 12 tits so as to accommodate a large litter. Gilts to be elected from sows, which wean 9-10 or more piglets per litter and are known to be good mothers and first farrowing at one year of age and farrowing interval of seven months. Select Breeding gilts at weaning period, further selection should be done 5 - 6 months of age.  Select fast growing weaners. These will likely consume less feed per unit live weight again. Thus less costly to keep. Select gilts which have developed hams and comparatively light heads. The selected gilts should have good body confirmation i.e. strong legs, sound feet etc. Gilts should not select for breeding purpose having supernumerary and inverted tits, and fat deposited at the base of the tits.
